Fall Apple Sauce ~ No Sugar Added

Morning beautiful people! This past week I have been craving Apple Sauce; and finally my cravings were settled this morning.

This Apple Sauce recipe is pretty simple in regards to ingredients, and it does not take very long to make. My favorite part about it is that there is no added sugar ~ and it is still incedibly tasty.

Hope you enjoy it too! I am off to ride and then spend the afternoon painting the guest room in our house.

Hugs!

What you will need:
ü 15 small apples - peeled, cored, and diced (You can use just about any sweet apple; I like using Pink Lady apples for this recipe)
ü
1 cup water
ü
1 tablespoon lemon juice
ü 2 tablespoons agave nectar
ü
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
ü
1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
ü
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
*You can leave the apple skin on if you choose; it adds texture to the sauce ~ and apple skin is very healthy for you
*This recipe makes about 4-6 cups of sauce

To get from A to B:
ü Mix apples, water, lemon juice, and agave nectar in a pot over medium heat; season with cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.
ü Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring frequently, and cook until the apples soften, about 15 minutes.
ü Use a potato masher or a large fork to mash apples to desired consistency. You can also pulse the apples in a food processor or blender for a smoother consistency (this is what I do).
ü Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate until cold.
ü Serve in a bowl or over: pancakes, banana bread, icecream and whatever else you can think of!
